 [1974:] Seit 800 Jahren warten die Iren darauf, von der englischen Herrschaft befreit zu werden. Diese langen Jahre des Wartens wurden in fast jeder Generation von einem Aufstand geprägt. Jeder Aufstand inspirierte zeitgenössische Barden und Liedermacher, so daß die irische Folklore heute reich ist an Revolutionsliedern. The Winds Are Singing Freedom entstand in den gegenwärtigen Kämpfen und ist ein Aufruf an das Volk, sich zusammenzuschließen.
